Autodesk Construction Cloud
I cannot believe my first post is going to be a rant on ACC... but it is. Where do I even begin? It's Procore without the pro, or even the core.
For starters, the website is slow. Not "take your time to load" slow. "Wait an extra 2 minutes to make sure the website is warmed up for your next input" slow. It has so much potential, but I believe they are focusing their efforts elsewhere, which may make sense business-wise. For that, I can understand the lack of effort.
Daily reports. When you're trying to coax someone into doing something they don't want to do, it has to be easy to follow. Any speed bump will make them stop and say screw it. Daily reports in ACC are that one speed bump you always avoid. The layout does not make sense, there are too many places to put info, and there's not nearly enough customization. Then the SYNCING?! Do not even get me started on the syncing.
Like, what is that for? I understand how hard it is to merge offline data with online data, BUT come on. This is not the first time anyone has done this. Why do we keep losing data over these errors? AND these errors do not even show you what information is being lost, and they give you no option other than deleting it. What's the point? If you know there's an error with my "offline" data, at least let me download it or look at it before I'm forced to delete it just to SYNC.
The amount of time I spent teaching my subs, and reteaching them, how to use ACC would've paid for Procore on its own. And can you imagine the subs that are difficult to deal with? The second they hit an error, they're the horse you led to water that won't drink. Now, the markups...
Might as well be using chalk directly on the TV. It's like using one of those smart whiteboards when they first came out. Slow, hard to use, and guess what? The sync feature plays a part there too.
Anyways, it's getting late, Nico
